Today, on December 19, 2008 Kurumoch International Airport is celebrating its 51st anniversary.


The official date of birth ofthe Airport is the 19th of December 1957. That is when the Decree tobuild a new IV class Kurumoch airport as part of the Privolzhsky TerritoryAdministration was issued.

For over half a century, Kurumoch Airport has made a significantcontribution to the development of the Russian civil aviation, preserved andcontinued the best traditions and intergenerational continuity of Russianaviators. 

Today, KurumochInternational Airportis the largest and busiest airport of the Central Volga region and ranks among Russia's topten airports. It has an extensive route network to practically all the regionsof the Russian Federationas well as neighbouring and distant countries.

11 December 2008 Kurumoch International Airport will soon offer another daily flight between Samara and Moscow. 24 December 2008 Kurumoch International Airport is expanding its business and draws in new airlines to the air transport market of the Samara region. One of the biggest Russian airlines, Transaero is planning to operate flights from Samara to Moscow.
