The Federal Air Transport Agency issued an ICAO IIIA category certificate of conformity of the airfield of Kurumoch International Airport. This category defines the airport meteorological minimum. The certificate issued by the Federal Air Transport Agency confirms that the facility and equipment of the airfield in Kurumoch allows the aircraft commander to decide on landing at a height of at least 30 meters from the ground and visibility from 200 meters (fog).
Kurumoch International Airport is the fourth airport of the Russian Federation and the first one in Airports of Regions equipped according to the IIIA landing category requirements.
Let us recall that the airfield infrastructure of Samara airport has undergone a large-scale renovation: a new apron, flight line, and high-speed taxiways have been built.
The second runway (Runway-2) was put into operation on 31 December 2017. Runway-2 is 3,001 meters long and 45 meters wide, with PCN (Pavement Classification Number) of 82/R/C/X/T; the runway is paved with asphalt concrete. These characteristics of Runway-2 make it possible to serve practically all modern long-range aircraft like Boing-777 and Airbus-340. The renovation of the airport infrastructure has increased the carrying capacity of Samara Airport and the level of flight safety.
