18 new training programmes including basic training and refresher courses for ground staff as well as for pilots and flight crew have been approved by the Federal Agency for Transport Supervision of the Transport Ministry of the Russian Federation.
Starting September 2009, the Aviation Training Centre offers several types of basic training and refresher courses, among which are the following:
- Aviation English for Pilots and Flight Crew (ICAO levels 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4);
- Aviation English for Pilots (ICAO level 4 (Operational) for those using English in R/T communication on international routes);
- Aviation Law;
- International Flights Operations;
- Meteorological Service for International Air Navigation;
- Aviation English for Aircraft Engineers;
- Standard Weather Briefing for Aerodrome Controllers.
All training is performed by highly qualified educational personnel. The Aviation English courses are taught by experienced aviation English teachers who hold corresponding international teaching licenses / certificates.
The new training programmes offered by the Airport Aviation Training Centre are timely to current flight crews working for different airlines in the Volga region. The staff of the new base airline, which is now being created in the Samara region, as well as of the future Maintenance and Repair Centre for foreign and Russian built aircraft here at Samara are also expected to be taught in the Airport Aviation Training Centre.
With a new Supplement to the Centre’s current Certificate, the total number of the training programmes offered here has now increased to 80.

The Airport Aviation Training Centre was opened in 2004. The Centre is certified by the Federal Agency for Transport Supervision of the Transport Ministry of the Russian Federation and provides the highest quality professional ground staff training, from basic training and refresher courses through to further education and supplementary professional qualifications.
All training is performed in accordance with the needs of the relevant Airport departments, such as Passenger Handling Service, Cargo Operations, Aerodrome Service, Aviation Engineering Service, Special Transport Complex and others.
From 2004 to 2008, over 1,500 aviation personnel completed training in the specialist Aviation Training Centre of Kurumoch Airport.
