Kurumoch handled 833,353passengers in the first half of this year, registering a growth of 11.3% overthe same period last year. The growth in passenger traffic was recorded in allthe traffic segments, both domestic and international, and in H1 2012 itamounted to 519,784 (+5.2%) and313,569 (+23.1%), respectfully.
Regularinternational routes that experienced the most growth in H1 2012 were Moscow,St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Krasnoyarsk, while the most popular leisureinternational destinations were Antalya, Sharm el-Sheikh, Hurghada and Bangkok.
With this continuing positive trend, passengertraffic volume through Kurumoch Airport is expected tocross the milestone of 1 million this year in July and to handle its 1.5 millionannual passengers in early October. By the end of this year, passenger trafficthrough Samara is projected to be close to 2 million.
Togetherwith that, other figures have also increased recently. In the first six monthsof 2012, Kurumoch reported its cargo and mail traffic growth as the Airporthandled 2,314.3 tons of cargo (including transit cargo), an increase of 18.2%over the same level recorded in the comparable prior year period. During thefirst half-year period Kurumoch recorded 9,820 aircraft movements, representinga 8.3% increase over the same period in 2011. In terms of MTOW, ittotaled 635,142 tons, which is an increase of 3.7% compared to the same periodlast year.
Such carriers as “UTair”, ”Aeroflot - Russian Airlines”, “S7 Airlines”,“Orenair”, “Ural Airlines” showed the most considerable increase in the figuresfor H1 2012.
