In July 2012 Kurumoch International Airport handled 204 793 passengers, a 4.6% increase year-on-year. For the last 7 months the airport welcomed 1 038 146 passengers which is almost 10% increase compared with the same period last year.
The most considerable traffic growth was demonstrated on the international regular flights. The passenger volume in July grew by 10.5% (30 878 pax) as compared with prior year period. In the figures of the last 7 months the number of international tourists was up by 23.7% and amounted to 174 096 passengers.
In July 2012 the domestic flow increased by 0.4% (109 698 pax), and as for January-July period the augmentation was 4.1% (629 482 pax) when compared with the year 2011.
The greatest number of domestic flight passengers was recorded on such destinations as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Nizhnevartovsk and Krasnoyarsk. The sharp increase of passenger volume was marked on the routes to Yekaterinburg and St. Petersburg as compared with July 2011.
The most popular foreign destinations were Prague, Tel-Aviv, Kiev and the near abroad cities as well as such tourist cities as Barcelona, Dalaman, Heraklion, Rodos, Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh.
Together with the passenger traffic through Samara Airport, other figures have also increased recently. In July Kurumoch handled 398 tones of freight and cargo (together with transit), 12.5% more than in the same month of the last year. In the first 7 months of 2012 the above stated figure amounted to 2 712.3 tones (+17.3%).
Such carriers as “Ural Airlines”, “Transaero” , “Rossiya”, “S7 Airlines”, “Aeroflot – Russian Airlines” showed the most considerable increase in the figures of July 2012.
