In January-October 2012 period Kurumoch International Airport (“Airports of Regions” holding company) handled 1 605 036 passengers and saw passenger demand expand by 8.5%. Both domestic and international sectors recorded traffic growth of 4.5% and 14.9% respectively.
The strongest passenger flow rise appeared in such regular domestic destinations as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and Yekaterinburg while the most popular international flights were to Prague, Dubai, and Frankfurt. Moreover regular flights from Samara airport to foreign countries experienced the most significant traffic growth in the first 10 months of 2012, up 17% year-on-year.
Starting from May 2012 the new charter programme offers international flights from Kurumoch airport to famous resort cities. Over the above mentioned period the greatest number of tourists preferred to travel to Antalya, Hurghada, Sharm el-Sheikh and Barcelona.
Together with the passenger traffic through Kurumoch, other figures of that period have also increased recently. The Airport recorded 17 846 aircraft movements which is an increase of 5.4% when compared with the last year period. The MTOW figure was 3.6% above previous-year levels and amounted to 1 148 905 tons. The total volume of mail and cargo (including transit) surged 11.4% year over year resulting in 4 008.8 tons.
Such carriers as "UTair", Aeroflot - Russian Airlines", “Orenair”, “Ural Airlines” and “S7 Airlines", showed the most notable increase in the figures of January-October period of 2012.
