At the height of the holiday season the Kurumoch international airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding) reviewed interim results in terms of departures to holiday destinations. Since early May more than 328,000 passengers had flown from Kurumoch to holiday resorts. Antalya tops the list as the most popular destination, with almost half of all departing tourists heading for the Turkish coast. Dalaman is the destination that has demonstrated a record growth in two recent years. This year the demand for this destination has increased by 30% year-on-year.
The passenger traffic has also been growing on southern Russian routes: the number of tourists flying from Samara to Krasnodar has increased 2.5 times since the beginning of the holiday season year-on-year, whereas other southern destinations such as Sochi and Simferopol remain popular too.
There are up to 9 daily departures to Turkish resorts now, including daily flights by Boeing 737, Boeing 767, Airbus A319 and Airbus A321 having a higher seating capacity as compared to A320.
