Kurumoch International Airport has tabulated the results of its business activity for the first 9 months of 2008. The number of passengers handled by the Airport has increased 10%.


A total of1 169 094 passengers were handled at Samara airport during the period fromJanuary to September 2008, which is an increase of 106 459 passengers or10%.  Along with that, a considerableincrease in passenger traffic through the Airport is recorded on the scheduledflights from Samara to Moscow, Prague, Kaliningrad, Anapa, Dushambe as well ason international charter flights (+15,6%) as compared with the same period lastyear. The charter flights to Barcelona, Varna, Iraclion, Sharmel-Sheikh and Hurghada have been the most popular with the citizens of theSamara Region. 

To furtherexpand the route network and satisfy the growing passengers’ demand for airservice Kurumoch International Airport has been holding intensive negotiationsfor potential cooperation with other Russian and foreign carriers onestablishing the needed routes and operate subsequent flights through Samara.  

Togetherwith the passenger traffic through Samara Airport other figureshave increased recently. Here is a detailed background: during the period fromJanuary to September 2008 the Airport recorded 18 294 aircraft movements,while maximum take-off weight (MTOW) totaled 1 127 856. 

Such carriers as “Aeroflot-Russian Airlines”, “KD-AVIA”, “CzechAirlines”, “OrenburgAirlines”, “Rossija STC”, “S7 Airlines” showed the most considerable increasein the figures of the 9 months 2008.
