Kurumoch International Airport continues raising its performance indicators. The number of passengers handled at the Airport in April 2012 rose by 9.2% while international passenger flow increased by 23.3% when compared with last year.

Overall,133 827 passengers were handled by the Airport in April of this year (+9.2%). Along with that, thegreatest increase in passenger traffic through the Airport is recorded on the internationalscheduled flights which was up by 23.3% as compared with the same period lastyear; the number of passengers who traveled abroad amounted to44 259.  The most populardestinations were Dubai, Prague,Dushanbe and Frankfurt.

The regular domestic flights that experienced thegreatest passenger flow were the flights between Samara and Moscow,St. Petersburgand Yekaterinburg.

Together with the passengertraffic through Samara Airport, other figureshave also increased recently. In April 2012 mail and cargo traffic,including transit cargo, amounted to 457.7 tons, demonstrating growth by 22.8%over the level recorded in the comparable prior year period. Forthe last month the Airport recorded 1 616 aircraft movements, up 7.4% fromthe number of take-offs and landings operated during the above period last year.As for maximum take-off weight (MTOW) it totaled 104 834, which is an increase of9.4%.

Such carriers as “UTair”,“Aeroflot - Russian Airlines” and “S7 Airlines” showed the most considerable increasein the figures of April 2012. Kurumoch International Airporttogether with air carries is constantly striving to widen their route networkas well as to increase the frequency of flights on the existing destinations.

09 April 2012 In the first quarter of 2012 Kurumoch International Airport has seen a passenger flow increase of 18% including a 37.7% growth of international passenger flow as compared with the same period last year. 24 May 2012 Greece carrier Astra Airlines is launching its seasonal tourist flights from Samara to Thessaloniki since June 2012.
