Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) shows interest in commencing a direct flight connection between Kiev and Samara.

On January 27, 2011 the representatives of Ukraine InternationalAirlines met with Kurumoch International Airportmanagement to explore the potential for maintaining the scheduled air link betweenSamara and Kiev (Boryspil Airport).

During this working visit, the representatives of the Ukrainian airlinewere introduced to thebasic infrastructure facilities of Kurumoch, but also to the current securitymeasures and ground handling and passenger services provided for carriers hereat Samara. 

Ukraine International Airlines plans to launch its newscheduled Kievto Samara service in summer 2011. Not only will this service provide passengersan opportunity for direct, “point-to-point” flights, it will also allow thoseflying from Samara to Kiev to enjoy convenient connections to their onward destinationsin CIS and Western European countries and in the Middle East.

The Airline plans to fly between Samara and Kiev four times a week operatinga Boeing 737-500 configured in two classes, business and economy.

Samara is expected to become the first destination in the Russian Federation, where regular flights to Ukraine will beavailable with UIA.

14 December 2010 Kurumoch Airport surpasses 1.5 million passenger mark for 2010. 08 February 2011 Kurumoch International Airport has released its monthly traffic figures for January 2011 which show passenger numbers up 9.1% compared to the same period last year.
