Samara Airports Reviews Results for 2020

Kurumoch international airport (managed by Airports of Regions MC) has reviewed its performance in 2020. Compared to 2019, the traffic plummeted almost twice to 1.7m passengers, whereas in 2019 it stood at 3m passengers. On inland routes the reduction was 30%, with 1.6m passengers receiving the airport’s services. Only 128,000 people used the opportunity to fly abroad from Samara.
As for domestic destinations, flights to Moscow showed the deepest dive year-on-year – the amount of services dropped by 46% to 769,000 passengers. Regional services sagged by 2% – the traffic on regular domestic flights bypassing Moscow exceeded 787,000 passengers. The traffic grew to destinations such as Mineralnye Vody, Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi, and Anapa.
The most popular domestic routes were Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Sochi, Surgut, Simferopol, Rostov-on-Don, Anapa and Yekaterinburg. Last year passenger flights from Samara were performed to 41 destinations, including 34 regular flights. During the past year the ground service handled 10.8 tonnes of baggage.
In 2020 airlines performed 8,680 sorties, the most popular aircraft model being Airbus 320.
