Kurumoch International Airport has tabulated the results of its business activity for the first 8 months of 2008. The number of passengers handled by the Airport has increased more than 12% in comparison with the same period last year.


A total of 1,028,543passengers were handled at Samara airport during the period from January toAugust 2008, which is an increase of 111,857 or 12.2%.  Along with that, a considerable increase inpassenger traffic through the Airport is still recorded on internationalcharter flights (+19.6%) and also domestic routes (+14.2%). The greatest numberof passengers is recorded on the scheduled flights from Samara to Moscow, Prague, Kaliningrad, Anapa, Rostov-on-Don and also on the charterflights to Barcelona, Larnaca, Iraklion, Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada.  

On August 27Kurumoch International Airportwelcomed its millionth passenger this year just as it had been earlierpredicted by the experts. 

Togetherwith the passenger traffic through Samara Airport, other figureshave increased recently. Here is a detailed background: during the period fromJanuary to August 2008 the Airport recorded 16,286 aircraft movements, which isa 3% increase as compared with the same period last year. As for maximumtake-off weight (MTOW), it totaled 1,003,224 tonnes, which is a growth to the tune of5% when compared with the first 8 months of 2007. 

Such carriers as “Aeroflot-Russian Airlines”, “KD-AVIA”, “CzechAirlines”, “OrenburgAirlines”, “Rossija STC”, “S7 Airlines” showed the most considerable increasein the figures of the 8 months 2008. Kurumoch International Airporttogether with air carriers have been constantly striving to widen their routenetwork as well as to increase the frequency of flights on the existingdestinations.

20 August 2008 Kurumoch International Airport telephone numbers will change on September 1, when the Airport switches over to a new telephone system. 15 September 2008 Kurumoch International Airport has successfully completed its second annual ISO 9001:2000 compliance audit.
